With Jennifer Lee as new Chief creative officer at Disney animation studios, the animation department has been undergoing a series of changes proposed to push Disney not just in animation but in inclusivity as an announcement was made on Tuesday that disclosed the addition of four new director to the studio: Carlos Lopez Estrada (Mexican filmmaker), Suzi Yoonesi (Iranian American, filmmaker), Josie Trinidad (American Philippine filmmaker and Disney veteran) and Marc Smith.

While there is no news on what their currently assigned projects are nor what possibilities are there that any will see the green light of production, Disney’s attempt at diversifying its directorial staff may bring a fresh new perspective on storytelling and open the doors to even greater possibilities for the animation studio.
